Project 004 – Berkshires Farmhouse

Built in 1764 as a farmstead, this house was originally only about 2,000 square feet. In 2006, an additional 1,000-square-foot wing was added, which we saw as the ideal space for a great room with a reading corner and a guest room on the second floor. To bring light and patina to the walls in the main living areas, a plaster specialist was brought in to concoct the perfect shade of pale peach that imbue the walls with life during the day and a glow at night. Furniture throughout was acquired from all over, with a special focus on Scandinavian pieces, both antique and vintage. The textiles and rugs were designed to feel lived-in and like they had always been there.
